“Wouldn't change a thing”

My finacee and I had a wonderful time when we stayed at Mezzanine for 7 nights. This was my dream vacation and there isn't anything I would change about the hotel. We got there Friday night and had a blast at the Friday night party which lives up to its reputation. Other than the first weekend we were there there were only a few other guests and it was quiet and relaxing which is what we were looking for. You are steps from the public beach which was never crowded and is absolutely beautiful. It looks like a postcard every way you look. The service was excellent and the staff was really friendly and warm. They were patient and encouraging with our bad spanish although almost all of the staff spoke fluent English. The hotel is chic, but not pretentious. The rooms are stylish and comfortable. We were worried about being too hot without AC, but the ocean breeze really cools you off and you get to fall asleep and wake up to the calming sounds of the ocean. We loved the lounge chairs and plunge pool. We spent a few days alternately swimming in the ocean, eating, reading on the lounge chairs, and going in the pool and couldn't have been more relaxed. Without asking the staff would bring over a pitcher of spring water throughout the day. The food is excellent - especially the fish tacos with thai dipping sauce (my fiancee remarked several time that he could just eat the sauce with a spoon). I've lived in Chicago and NYC where they have great thai food and this definitely competes with the best of those cities. The hotel is walking distance to other hotels where you can eat, but they aren't as good! Cabs are very easy to catch if you want to go into town or to the ruins. I hope to go back again some day soon!

“Every time we stay here we love it more”

We have been going to the Mezannine every year for the last 4 years. Each time it is such a luxurious, rejuvenating, and fun experience. The balance between the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere and the Friday dance parties is just what we look for when we get a rare opportunity to get away from work and the kids. The staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and respectful--read: not intrusive. The area around the hotel continues to be laid back and always interesting to explore--thank you Tulum city council or the zoning gods--whoever is responsible-- for continuing to prevent the Cancunning of Tulum. A bike trip to see the Mayan archeological site or--for a heartier trip--down to the biosphere--don't miss the amazing cenote right at the entrance and keep riding until you get to the research center in order to have a surprisingly good lunch and to get amazing tower views of the preserve. Thank you Mezzanine staff and owners for making us so happy!

We just got back home and already miss the sounds of crashing waves and the truly friendly voices of everyone who works at The Mezzanine. We were only there for two nights, but they were completely memorable. The staff are awesome. Beyond friendly, happy, and
talented! After a day of exploring the area I stopped by the bar while my girlfriend got ready for dinner and was greeted by one of the managers with sincere interest about how our day was and curiosity about what we did. It was great to see and feel like they really cared...which they did. We will be back for sure.

We could not believe how incredible the flaming coffee drink after our first nights dinner was. Gilberto offered it as our second welcome drink "on the house" which was very generous, unexpected and appreciated. Our server found sincere joy in wowing us with his creative show. What a way to top off a great dinner. We keep talking about the Grouper we had. It was spectacular. I wish I could figure out how to get someone around here to make something similar!

From the front desk, to the room, to the bar, to the restaurant, to the setting, and to the beach, we were thrilled by our experience there.

Great bed.
Beautiful rooms.
Great food.
Cool, fun, friendly, awesome staff.
Great vibe.
Great drinks.
Perfect.
etc., etc., etc...

As great as the facilities are, what really makes this place special and memorable are the GREAT people working there. We felt like we made great new friends. We will tell everyone we know about The Mezzanine. It is a great place.
